Employment Contract Drafting and Review in the U.S.

A new hire or job offer can move quickly. Before anyone signs, there are questions worth answering: How is compensation calculated? What happens if the role changes? Which obligations continue after the job ends?

LOIGICA helps employers and professionals draft and review employment contracts involving work in the United States. We explain the proposed terms, identify concerns, and help you consider changes in the context of your goals.

Tell us whether you are hiring or reviewing an offer, where the work will take place, and your deadline.

What an Employment Agreement Covers

An employment agreement sets out terms of the relationship between an employer and an employee. It may address responsibilities, compensation, confidentiality, and how the relationship can end.

The details may sit in several documents: an offer letter, the contract itself, a bonus plan, or a separate confidentiality agreement. Reviewing those documents together helps reveal conditions that may not appear in the headline offer.

The title of a document does not tell you everything about its effect. We consider its wording, the circumstances, and the applicable law. A signed agreement does not automatically guarantee a particular period of employment.

When You May Need Employment Contract Support

For employers preparing to hire

You may need a new agreement, revisions for a different role, or a review of documents your business has used before. We help you identify the terms that need to reflect the proposed position and work location.

For professionals considering an offer

You may understand the salary but still have questions about a bonus, notice period, or restriction on future work. An employment contract review gives you a chance to examine those commitments before deciding whether to sign.

When an existing arrangement changes

A promotion, relocation, or revised compensation package may come with new documents. Bring the existing agreement and proposed changes so the review can consider how they fit together.

The Terms We Help You Work Through

Role and place of work

We review how the position, responsibilities, and work location are described. If remote work or relocation is part of the arrangement, those details matter. Tell us where the employee will actually perform the work.

Salary, bonuses, and commissions

We examine payment terms and any conditions attached to additional compensation. When is a bonus earned? Who decides whether targets were met? What happens to an unpaid commission when employment ends? These questions can materially affect the offer.

Confidentiality and work product

We consider obligations concerning confidential information and ownership of work created during employment. If the employee has an existing business, invention, or outside project, raise it before signing so the relevant provisions can be reviewed.

Termination and continuing obligations

We examine notice provisions, termination terms, and obligations that may continue afterward. These can include proposed restrictions on future work or requests to repay certain costs. Their validity and effect require review under applicable law. *

How LOIGICA Can Help

How LOIGICA Can Help

For employment contract drafting, we start with the intended role and the terms you want to document. We identify questions that need decisions and prepare the agreed draft for your review.

For employment agreement review, we examine the documents against your priorities and explain identified concerns. We can recommend revisions and help you understand how a proposed change would affect your commitments.

If you want assistance with employment contract negotiation, tell us at the outset. We clarify whether the engagement covers advice on proposed revisions, direct communication with the other party, or both. Direct negotiation is not automatically included in a document review.

How the Process Works

How the Process Works
1
Tell us about the arrangement

Let us know whether you are the employer or the professional, who the other party is, and when a response is needed. We confirm whether we can take on the matter before starting the work.

2
Define the documents and scope

We identify which agreements and supporting materials need review. We discuss the proposed work, fee, and timing, including any separate questions that require additional advice.

3
Draft or review the agreement

We prepare the draft or assess the proposed terms. We explain the points that need your attention and discuss questions where the documents or instructions are incomplete.

4
Work through the next steps

We discuss your feedback and agreed revisions. If the other party sends another version, we clarify the review needed before you make a decision.

Hiring or Accepting a Role Across Borders

If a foreign business is hiring in the United States, or you are considering a role that involves relocating, tell us which countries and states are involved. A contract used abroad may need substantial changes for the proposed U.S. arrangement.

Employment terms and immigration requirements are separate questions. Signing a contract does not itself provide permission to work in the United States. We identify when immigration, foreign-law, or tax advice needs to be coordinated with the contract work.

Why Work With LOIGICA

You should be able to connect the legal wording to the decision in front of you. We discuss the terms in practical language, make room for questions, and focus the review on the points that matter to your situation.

For international clients, that includes understanding the proposed U.S. arrangement in its wider context. We clarify what the engagement covers and which additional issues need attention.

Discuss Your Employment Contract

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you review an offer letter before I accept?

Yes. Share the offer and any documents it refers to through the intake process. A short letter may rely on separate terms that also need review.

What if I have an executive employment agreement?

Tell us about any bonus, equity, severance, or other supporting plans. We first assess the documents and required scope. Some arrangements need additional tax, benefits, or other specialist advice.

Are restrictions on future employment enforceable?

That depends on the restriction, the circumstances, and applicable law. Do not assume a clause is valid simply because it appears in the agreement, or that it can be ignored without review.

What determines employment contract review cost?

Document length, complexity, supporting plans, and the requested work affect the fee. Revisions and negotiation may change the scope. We discuss the proposed fee before the engagement begins.

What if I have already signed?

Tell us what you need to understand or change, and whether a disagreement has arisen. Reviewing an existing agreement does not automatically include representing you in an employment dispute.

Understand the Terms Before Your Next Step
